We have entered the demo of our tune, Promises, into the Older Idol contest in Toronto. You can check out the details and vote for us here:
http://www.indietalent.ca/voteolderidol.shtml
The winner is chosen by the number of online votes they receive so we would really appreciate it if you (and all your friends!) could please go to this link and vote for Tell Mama’s Promises (if you think we deserve it).
Thanks for helping us out!

With facebook, Wordpress and Telus
Well, it took me a month to iron out the kinks (and there are still a few small ones left) but I can finally take gig photos with my phone and upload them instantly to our facebook account AND link them to our website/blog.
This is pretty cool because, while I do take a lot of still photo, audio and video footage at our gigs, it can take a while to get around to posting it online which is just not helpful.
Now, I can take footage of our performances and the crowd and have them appear on my personal facebook site and the Tell Mama website within minutes. Visit http://www.tellmama.net/blog/photos/mobile-uploads/ to see our mobile uploads - I will be sending photos from every gig we play.
I have also set up a facebook page for Tell Mama where Tell Mama fans can upload photos and video footage they may have - wouldn’t that be fun?! So, visit our page at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tell-Mama/9564019969?ref=s and share your Tell Mama memories. I thinks it’s a great way to celebrate the music and the community. At this point, facebook doesn’t actually allow me to pull my mobile uploads photo album from my personal site and place them on my band page without but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. I will still be placing photos here but it will have to be the old fashioned way.

Joanne was a major organizer for the event. Our Red Devil song which is coming out on our CD was written for Mona (right)

We are thrilled to be asked to headline the Stewart Park Festival Gala fundraiser which is scheduled for next Saturday, May 31st. (Please note that this event was originally scheduled for the 10th of May and is not, I repeat IS NOT cancelled).
On this evening, Tell Mama fans will be able to get a sense of a new Tell Mama. We have had some changes on the musician front - all very amenable, it’s just that people have lives it seems (at least, people other than Franc and I!) and they have other projects they need to attend to. So, on the 31st, our CD producer, Phil Bova of Bova Sound, will be performing on bass guitar and Pat Grenier will be rocking things out on the kit. Phil has played with many performers in the area including the Hilotrons, Dennis Whitty & Russel Levia. Pat is the key organizer of the Arnprior arm of the Mississippi Blues Society jam session and has played with a whole bunch of local groups including the Priorities & Ghost Band. He has played with us a couple of times already and is fitting in very nicely (except for on the narrow stage at the Rideau Canal Museum where we almost crippled him!).
So, here’s to new sounds and lots of fun! Tickets for this evening are $40 and include food and entertainment. The committee is following an Academy Awards theme so expect a lot of glitz and glamor, especially on the red carpet!
Tickets are available at Shadowfax and Jo’s Clothes. It’s a good idea to buy them in advance as this event has sold out before and this is a show you won’t want to miss!

Fun-Raiser with Jenica Rayne and Girlz Like That!
Jenica Rayne has asked me to join her in a performance at both the Red Roof Women’s Music Festival (July 19th) and the Funraiser they are having this weekend in Kingston - Unleash your Inner Red Roof Idol where singers can compete with a real backup band (that’s us!) for an opportunity to perform at this year’s festival.
This looks like it’s going to be a great night so I hope you can come out and join us!
